Sunday, May 2nd:  Jimmy Campbell –  Jimmy and his wife, Cora, have been members at Hollies BC since 2008.  Both have  been Christians for many years.  Jimmy serves as a Deacon, Parking Lot Greeter and Substitute Teacher for the Adult Co-Ed Sunday School Class.

 

 

 

Sunday, May 9th:  Mark Custalow – Mark is a Native Virginian and a member of the Mattaponi Indian Tribe. He has been a church planter, local church pastor, and a missionary with the North American Mission Board, the Montana Southern Baptist Convention, and now the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia.  Life Verse: “Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” Psalm 86:11

 

Sunday, May 16th & June 20th:  Rev. Joe Newman – We welcome back to our pulpit Rev. Joe Newman.  Joe accepted the Free Gift of Salvation when he was 8 years old.  Joe grew up in a solid Southern Baptist household where church attendance three times a week was the norm.  He felt the Call to Preach while in College.  With all the changes in llife he has worked most of his adult life self-employed in his own Financial Planning Practice.

Joe has been very active in local mission work for many years.  He served as the President of the Norfolk Area Baptist Association (Now called the Bridge Network of Churches).  Joe has served as a stand Preacher for many local churches and he has served as Bi-Vocational Pastor of two churches; The Brentwood Baptist Church near Ward’s Corner in Norfolk and the Berea Church in the Driver Section of Suffolk.

 

Sunday, May 23rd – Dr. Lynn Hardaway – Dr. Hardaway is married to Maureen Tarpey Hardaway; they live in Chesapeake and have four children, one stepson who is a pastor, and twelve grandchildren.  Lynn pastored three congregations in the Tidewater area from 1982 – 2012 and currently serves as the bi-vocational pastor of Blackwater Baptist Church in Virginia Beach.

Lynn joined the Bridge Network of Churches staff in January 2013 as Church Health Missionary, succeeding Roy Smith as the Network Missionary in October, 2015.  His doctorate from Liberty University is in Church Health and Evangelism and his passion in ministry is to encourage pastors and congregations in their efforts to fulfill the Great Commission in the midst of a changing culture.

 

Sunday, May 30th:  Dr. Kevin Newman—Dr. Newman serves as the Interim President, Academic Dean/Provost at Faith Bible College in Norfolk, VA. Kevin is married to Dawn with four (4) children and two (2) grandchildren. Kevin is a graduate of Lancaster Bible College (PA), Biblical Theological Seminary (PA), and Conservative Theological Seminary (FL). He has served as the senior pastor in six (6) different churches for over thirty (30) years. He has taught at Arlington Bible College, Alaska Bible College, Indian Bible College, and now at Faith Bible College. He also served as a missionary for numerous years in Alaska and Arizona ministering to Native Alaskans and Native Americans.

 

June 6th & 13th:  Brooks Wallace—Brooks and his wife Brenda, who have been married for 53 years, joined Hollies BC in June of 2008.  Brooks grew up attending Hollies where he was saved as a teenager.  Both are thankful for God’s grace in leading them to the loving family at Hollies where they actively serve in many areas.

 

 

Sunday, June 27th:  Rev. Todd Holt – Dr. Holt served in full time pastoral ministry for twenty two years before retiring in 2017. He currently serves churches in eastern Virginia through pulpit supply and short term interims. He is a Realtor with The Real Estate Group in Virginia Beach and is finishing the draft to his second book. His wife, Carol, is a high school English teacher. They have been married for 33 years and are the parents of two adult children.
